About Us

Benson Barrera was raised in Idaho and graduated from Skyview High School. Upon graduation he was drafted by the Houston Astros baseball team but opted for a baseball scholarship to the University of Utah. Benson graduated from the U in 2002 and enrolled at the University of San Diego School of Law that fall. During his time at San Diego Benson was a member of the prestigious San Diego Law Review and received the highest grade in his class in multiple subjects including Torts, Corporations, Constitutional Law, Real Estate Finance, and Partnership Tax. Benson graduated Magna Cum Laude from USD in 2005 and returned to Idaho to practice law. His first job was with Holland and Hart, one of only two regional law firms in Idaho.

Following that, Benson began practicing primarily criminal law. Benson is well-acquainted with the courtroom and twice has been recognized by the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers for taking the most cases to jury trial. In addition to his success at the trial level, Benson has successfully argued before the Idaho Court of Appeals. Benson internalizes his clients’ situation, constantly driving him to obtain the optimal outcome for them.
